Indy
Indy

On the morning of March 28th we knew that today would be the day that Indy's puppies would come into the world. Indy is a 4 year old Cardigan Welsh Corgi, (The Corgi with the tail). she enjoyed a normal pregnancy of 63 days. As her time drew near, we did all the expected tasks involved in preparing for whelping. We had been monitoring Indy's temperature for a week and 4 days before, did an x-ray to have an idea of how many babies to expect. Her temp had dropped the night before, she didn't eat breakfast, and was becoming restless, so we knew whelping time was near.

Dr. Sarah Grote, DVM

At approximately 5 PM, the c-section was performed, usually the expected decision for most dwarf legged breeds. Dr. Sarah Grote, DVM, led the team of Community Vet Center staff. It took just 30 for these dedicated staff members to welcome the puppies.
