Feline Wellness: Fleas
Fleas are probably the most common parasite in this area. They are bloodsuckers that can cause skin problems and transmit tapeworms. Regular, ongoing flea control measures are necessary during the spring, summer and fall months. Insecticide sprays, dips and powders have been replaced by safer and more effective monthly flea preventatives, such as Frontline.
We recommend a monthly flea preventative during the summer months. Talk with the veterinarian for guidance on which flea products to use and how and when to use them.
